I have a '98 Honda 300 Four Trax 4x4 ATV. Mine seems to ride rougher than my sons, who has a '94 model. My rear shock has around 11-12 coils and my sons has 8-9. Did Honda make them different or has mine been changed? And could I use a rear shock from a '94 model? Any help appreciated.

Welcome to the forums. I think they did change the shocks at some point. I also noticed that the last models that were made rode rougher than the earlier models.

I went to bikebandit.com and looked up the rear shocks for both years and they had a different part number.
