A PEN! well Red is correct bro, it's really not as bad as you think though but I think I would try fishing first go to Lowes or Home depot and buy a 5/16 wooden dowl rod get you some 3M two sided adhesive cut it to fit the dowl stick it to the end. jack up the rear of the quad put it in like 3rd or 4th so you can grab the tire and bump it over easier, if you can shine a light down the plug hole and see the pen you can stick the dowl in the hole and press it to the pen, be paitent it will work, but thats why it caled fishing and not catching right? lol. Also it may be easier to remove the tank and front plastics.

tank and plastics are already off,i tried fishing a while last night but the problem im having is the piece is laying flat and is to wide to pull through the plug hole,so it has to be stood on end and pulled back out the way it went in if that makes sense,,i just didnt want to spend a ton of time fishing just to come to the conclusion it has to come apart,,im gonna try some more though,,,,,and yeah a friggin PEN!! lol thanks for the responses guys

You can use the Items I described it will wor you can even use a smaller dowl so you can see inside better just try to stick the end, taking it apart would be a last resort for me, goo thing its plactic you could also break it up with something and take a shovac and reduce the hose down to something that fits around the plug hole not necessarily in it though and suck it out. if you have it on TDC all the valve are closed so it will create a vaccum.

Why a pen? were you trying to autograph your piston??? LMAO jk I know this has to be frustrating.

Good luck getting it out. If you can't get it out that way, you will have to pull the valve cover and the head off.

moose, everybody knows you use a sharpie to autograph a piston,,duh lol..
like a dummy i was using a pen instead of a screwdriver to try and see when the piston was on top,,guess as the piston came up the pen got angled such a way that it snapped the end off the pen,,i can giggle now but man what a ordeal..dang thing has been 12 yrs without valve adjustment and i think its trying to tell me it didnt want any adjustment..

If I do that, I usually use a wooden dowel, but yeah, I've seen the piston come up and the wooden dowel hang, like you are talking about. Did you get it out without pulling the head?

A manual would come in handy, but if you don't get a manual, I could post pages of whatever you need to know. I have a 300EX manual.

Maybe some of your valves are adjusted up a little too tight.
Did you line the T mark on the flywheel up with the notch on the case?
