so this quad has not been run in about 3 years, took the car apart and cleaned everything with carb cleaner spray, it now starts fine, and idles ok if I keep the choke on, but as soon as I take the choke off, I need to keep it running with the throttle, if I ride it for a while, it seems to do better. I would like to know the carburetion adjustment procedure, such as initial settings, what should the mixture screw be set at, ans so forth. Thanks.

Sounds like there's still some debris in the carb to me, in the idle circuit since you have to keep the choke on, but here are the adjustment procedures.

what should the throttle stop control knob be set at? are these the only 2 adjustments possible? thanks for your help
There isn't a certain amount of turns specified for the throttle. It's supposed to be set at 1,400 RPMs with a tachometer, but I always just guess at the idle speed. And yes, those are the only two adjustments, air/fuel ratio (pilot screw) and idle speed (throttle stop screw/knob).

Idle is 1400RPM I think? But if you are only able to idle with the choke on the Air feul screw orfice is stopped up you need to remove that screw, spring, o-ring and tiny washer. clean the needle on the end of the screw and take a small wire like from a wire brush and clean the orfice. also remove the slow jet and hold it up in the light I gaurantee the little hole in the center is clogged or some of the little holes along the sides are.
