Welcome to the forums! don't think the 350 has a cooling fan its an air cooled motor putting a fan won't really do any good.

the trx350fe,trx350fm, and the trx350te models are equipped with oil coolers and cooling fans..the trx350tm model is equipped with an oil cooler, but not a cooling fan..takin right from the service manual i have...the wiring should be pre-wired for a fan..if you want to add a fan to the trx350tm model..as it is optional for this model...i don't see a fan control unit in the wiring diagram for a fan..soo..i would say you can just add a fan for your oil cooler..plug-n-play so to speak.,,oh..my manual covers 2000-2006 year models..soo..it should be good.

Yeah, the 2wd manual shift models are the only ones that don't have a fan. The thermo sensor on the 350 Rancher is notorious for going bad and causing the fan to quit and this will cause the ATV to melt the piston and rings. I've seen lots and lots of them do this. Since the 2wd manual shift doesn't have the fan and the engines are exactly the same, I believe that when the fan quits working, that it and the oil cooler block air flow to the engine causing the engine to over heat. I can't come up with any other explanation for this. The 2wd manual shift with no fan doesn't run hot, but the same engine with a fan runs hot and melts the piston and rings, when the fan quits working. I believe they all would be better off without the fan or at least, change the thermo sensor often, before it goes bad.

glad you mentioned this about adding a fan ..i thought about it..now that you said the fan blocks the air flow..i'll stick with just the oil cooler..at least it will have air flow all the time.

That has to be the problem, because the 2wd manual shift don't have the fan and they don't run hot. But when the fan quits on the others, it melts the piston and rings. The engines are exactly the same. If you look through the front of a 350 Rancher with a fan, you can't even hardly see the engine for the fan and oil cooler. I believe that's the problem.
