Need a winch that will fit 2008 Rancher ES 4x4

I recently bought a champion 3000 winch for my 2008 Rancher ES 4x4 and the mounting plate specific to my model. I realize I went cheap, but it had pretty good reviews for what it is. The problem is that there isn’t a big enough cavity between the frame and the bumper for the winch. It doesn’t appear to be much bigger than any other winches I’ve looked at. Anybody running a winch on a 2008 Rancher, and if so what winch do you have that will fit the space. Thanks.
