Welcome to the forums. I think some of the early ac's had a suzuki engine.

Yep, they were basically a rebadged King Quad.

Interesting thing about the old AC 300's....they have disc brakes all around, IRS, and high/low/super-low. They also have selectable 4wd, AND they actually have a diff lock in the front diff, but you have to do some modifications to actually use the diff lock on the AC bikes. The King Quads had the 2wd/4wd/LOCKED 4wd capability, while the AC just had 2wd/4wd, but the 4wd LOCKED is there (same front diff) you just have to do some work to get it functioning.

Father in law has two of the late 90's AC 300's. They were way ahead of their time as far as options go, but are a MAJOR PITA to work on, and the dang parts for them are $$$.

They're as bad as the 350 Ranchers with sticking carb floats, and when they overflow, the gas all goes in the crankcase. A new AC 300 carb is about $400-500 too, so leaky carbs on them isn't a cheap or easy fix.

Still very interesting machines.

and I will say this a LOT of the early Cat's were over built and lasted a LONG time and many are still running just fine
foot shifts and all LOL
there sure not like the new autos they have and never ending electrical issue's LOL

I have a buddy who rides old school Artic Cats , he has at least 3 different models and I have rode along side of him many times , he is a very cocky kind of guy , ex-sheriff LOL , he talks a lot of poopoo about Cats being the best ATV out there ------ the only bad thing I seen was they break axles alot

I plow in the winter with the king quad, the diff lock in the front it amazing, I rebuilt it last year. It's a 99 with 4000 km on it. Good machine for me around the farm
