Interesting thing about the old AC 300's....they have disc brakes all around, IRS, and high/low/super-low. They also have selectable 4wd, AND they actually have a diff lock in the front diff, but you have to do some modifications to actually use the diff lock on the AC bikes. The King Quads had the 2wd/4wd/LOCKED 4wd capability, while the AC just had 2wd/4wd, but the 4wd LOCKED is there (same front diff) you just have to do some work to get it functioning.
Father in law has two of the late 90's AC 300's. They were way ahead of their time as far as options go, but are a MAJOR PITA to work on, and the dang parts for them are $$$.
They're as bad as the 350 Ranchers with sticking carb floats, and when they overflow, the gas all goes in the crankcase. A new AC 300 carb is about $400-500 too, so leaky carbs on them isn't a cheap or easy fix.
welcome to the site
and I will say this a LOT of the early Cat's were over built and lasted a LONG time and many are still running just fine
foot shifts and all LOL

Hey Guys, Just signed up to the forum. Currently have a 2019 TRX420FM2 that I got courtesy of Honda (Thanks Honda!) and
a 2003 TRX350TM. I'm from Canada but living in Australia enjoying the nice riding weather. Will see you all in the forums.
Just bought a couple of 2009 420 Rancher AT s. I have one running and driving like new. The other not so much. They have been garage keep for a few years after being rode at most 800 miles, and that’s on the one that does run. Hoping to find a few answers here. Thanks in advance.
Can someone please point me in the direction of where to locate a oem carb for a 2000 TRX 250 recon? Everywhere Iv been recommended to says they are discontinued and the China carb that was on it when I got it has several issues and doesn’t seem worth attempting to fix. Any help would be greatly...
Hey guys just wanted to introduce myself. I’m down here in Tucson AZ. It seems like the dirt bike/atv/sxs capital down here with all the public land and tons of trails and mining ruins. Lots to explore.
I’ve been a car mechanic my whole life. I’m also a welder and have some machining...
