I am a long time Honda owner and never experienced a issue of engine failure with anyone of my machines. I am, however, curious with good "maintenance" (let's assume within the limits of the manual and no abuse/swimming, etc.) what does one expect out of a Honda in terms of hours on a ATV? I see these 300's, etc., out there and really curious about how many hours of good service one might expect. My gut tells me 3000-4000 hours with excellent service, but interested in thoughts on this concept.....

My rancher has had moderate service, never sunk, never ran at WOT for long periods, just a farm bike. I think the last time I looked at it, it was just past 14,000kms and about 1400 hours. It's just starting to smoke a bit now. Motor has never been touched on it. I think if a guy was a bit more particular about the maintenance on it you could maybe push it to 2000-2500hrs, but beyond that. I'm not sure. Depends on the machine/engine too. Every model is different.

A 300 would be hard to judge , no hour meter , or odometer ( on biggest majority ) ----------------- I couldn't fathom a guess , my actual time would be shorter than one that wasn't put thru as much abuse

I'm two cut wires away from giving you some hard facts. The original owner of my 93 300 had an hour meter installed before he even brought it home. Then my brother and his boys got a hold of it and one of the kids recently cut it off and lost it. I'd pay good money to see those numbers cause this thing has been around the world and back. Sorry, no help.

Well..... Fish i have a honda speedo kit, BUT....... I installed the said kit on my 1999 used 300 on the second set of tires, the oem h-track tires still had 3/4 tread left, so not much help here ether, i think....... Mm had his meter from factory ? But i don't know if He's the original owner...
