the only thing i wanted for this 4wheels was the option of 2x4 but this model was only avaible in AWD
If you can find a Warn 4-2-4 Select, you can install it and it will let you take it out of 4wd. It replaces the front driveshaft and allows you to disconnect power to the front wheels. The only problem is that they have been discontinued and are hard to find. Sometimes you can find one on Ebay, but not often. I've heard a rumor that another company is going to start making them again. I don't know how true the rumor is, but I heard it from a High Lifter employee, so it could be true.

i have the warn 424 on my 02 rancher es, and i love that thing. when in 2wd, it feels like a sporty bike, with the rear end that tends to kick out. but when in 4wd, it with grip anything.

I used to love hammering dirt road corners on my recon. You can whip them around like no bodys business.
