My steering progressively got worse and then got a lot of slop and it and when I looked down the lower part of the steering shaft would move about a quarter of an inch when I turned. I ordered a new bearing and some other pieces to replace the lower area and now I have things torn apart but when I look at the area where the new bearing is suppose to go it looks like I need to put the bearing in from the bottom but the bearing will only fit from the top. Do I need to try to hammer out all the stuff in here or just tried to push things in from the top? Any advice helps, thanks. (And pictured is looking up)

Ok, so after looking at this for a bit, i started to pull the clip off (just above the mostly missing bearing) and it busted off so that there is about 66% of it left in there "securing" the outer piece of the bearing and now the bearing isn't going anywhere... anyone have any helpful recommendations on how to get the old piece out?

you need to get the clip and the inner race of the old bearing out of the bore , i use a oxy/acc torch and slice the race in two , if you don't have a torch you can use a grinder and cut the race in half on each side , 180 degrees on each side

Hmmm... cutting, I like that! I got the clip off this evening (above the outer race) but that was about it. I sprayed some wd-40 and will let it sit overnight and go back st it tomorrow afternoon... cut it... I like that!
