I currently have a Rincon 650 and I enjoy doing most types of riding, never been riding on the sand though but I would LOVE to! Humm may have to get a HondaATVForum group up to go riding.

Hey folks,

I'm up in the mtns, near Boone. Just bought my 1st quad, an o5' Rancher 350. I haven't taken it anywhere yet. I've just been making trails around our woods so far. It seems like a good way to motivate the kids to help make the trails I'd always wanted before we got motorized toys.

I don't know about the "mud scene" up here, but are a few atv parks nearby that should be pretty good from what I've heard. Brushy Mtn near Taylorsville, Brown Mtn in Pisgah, and just over the TN state line is Callantee near Mountain City. They all have websites. I'm not sure about mud, but I've seen a lot of mud machines (Mad Max looking jeeps) heading through Boone towards TN, so there's a lot of mud somewhere in that direction, probably Callantee. I haven't riden any of these parks yet, but plan to soon. We have dirt bikes too so I'll be trying out the parks on my Suzuki DR-Z400 too.

Sounds like a blast to camp there. Ride, grill some burgers & rest the butt, then ride some more, then grill somethin' else & put away a few brews....then do it all over again the next day. :)

Let me know if any of you guys head this direction.

I went to Brushy Mountain and its a very nice place but I would recommend that you go a day or so after a nice rain, not because of mud but because the place is so dusty. I went and and my quad had some trouble slowing down on the huge amount of dust on the trail. I will go back there but only after a good rain. I do want to go to Brown Mountain too that's only about an hour from my house so that is very close to me.
