I am looking for a part for my Honda TRX300FW 1993, which on the website Honda Motorcycle Parts, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha Motorcycle Parts - ATV, Classic Bike, Dirt Bike Parts is described as Gear Set Final, Part Number: 41310HC5305

Looking at the picture on the website it seems I have to buy both cogs when all I need is the small drive shaft cog. Can anyone help me to source this part.

Sounds like you need the pinion shaft and pinion gear. The pinion shaft and pinion gear is one machined piece, but you have to buy the ring gear too, they come in sets.

they are called pinion gear, and ring gear..and they only sell them in sets..unless you can just find a used pinion and used ring gear alone from either ebay or a salvage yard. added:..you may as well replace your differental bearings and seals when you tear it down..your going to tear up the old seals when you go in to replace the pinion and ring gear anyway.

Yeah, I agree, the bearings being bad are what causes the gears to get messed up to begin with.
