ok guys and gals, I am looking to purchase a new Honda sxs 1000-5 in the next few months...need info on accessories and aftermarket products and who carries the best and who to stay away from...here is what I need...

Honda oem 2- piece poly hard coat windshield
Honda oem roof
Honda oem side doors that go above the half door and also back...
Honda heater...750.00
marine grade stereo system...4 speakers...budget is 350.00
winch
camo...800.00 ouch...

I have seen roofs for 350.00 on ebay but not sure how good they are..

as you know Honda accessories are very high even with life time discount of 10%...that why they can offer it...best deals to deal with in Minnesota also...all dealers seem to be very close on price so it does not pay to drive very far...

thanks in advance,
Gary

I think the roof, windshield and doors come as a outdoor package for 1600.00 if I am not mistaken...

I will be doing all the install myself...

any help and all help is appreciated...

Not a big fan of the Honda 2pc windshield... if you want a tip out... look at superatv... the Honda roof is quite good... there is normally about a 30% mark up in Honda accessories... so you might be able to negotiate the price down a bit. One thing I highly recommend that people don't consider is a rear bumper... and rear led pods for back up lights... and since you are adding electrical accessories... make sure you get the 2nd battery setup... since the stock battery is just barely sufficient to run the machine and transmission (the tranny takes a lot of the available amps)

Another place for advice is Honda side by side forum, great folks there and plenty of 1000 owners. If you want to save some money try and convince yourself camo isn’t needed and plow that money into other items you will likely need such as and not limited to: 2nd battery, spare tire, bumpers, lights, bed extender on back, etc.

I got heated seats on my work Polaris but the poly windshield ices up badly inside (and outside if snowing) no wipers so I carry a wiper.

Have a 17500 btu heater and wipers with a glass windshield on the diesel Mule (which is great but had to install a bypass for summer use).

So a wiper would be handy; heated seats are great but don’t keep the inside defrosted; and a cab heater is good for keeping the cabin from icing up if the cab is well sealed

Mule has 950cc diesel, bed extender, electric dump and 24 VDC system. It’s bad
