I am going to the honda dealer in a few hours to look at a hold-over 2007 400ex. They are asking $4399. I have never bought a new bike from the dealer. How much more do you guys think they will come down? I also hear a lot of people getting free gear thrown in - what is the typical amount to push for?

Thanks for the help

Ask for $4000 and throw in a helmet. Ask them for the Honda safety course. It is a very easy, couple hour course on safety tips and then Honda gives you a check for $100. At least they did when i bought my quad.

Thanks for all the replies. I ended up getting the quad for $4300. They showed me a receipt that showed how much they paid for it and was only $20 lower than what I bought it for. They did get set me up with the safety course which will be good because this quad is for my wife. They would not give me a free helmet because they said they are only making $20 off me. I did get one at dealer cost plus 10%. They also offer a discount on all products and accessories to any customer that purchases a bike. I just cant remember what how much the discount is.
