Do you guys know if anyone makes a longer shifter for a 2008 TRX250EX? I bought size 12 boots and I don't see how I'm going to be able to shift with them.

My main issue is that the boot is so tall, it takes a lot of effort to get my foot below the shifter, I have to dig it down between the foot peg and shifter. I tried rotating the shifter up a little, but there's really no sweet spot - too far up and it becomes really hard to shift either way.

I figure a longer shifter will give me more leverage so that I can keep my foot on the peg without having my boot stuck under the shifter.

just loosen the shifter bolt and move the shifter up. I wear a 14 boot and ride a 250X that's all I did and no more problems.

I don't know that there are longer ones... buy 2, cut them both and weld them together, custom.

Like red said the boots being broke in will help. You will get use to it but it takes time. I had the same problem and when I bought new boots it was a problem then. Ask the HOnda shop if you can get a longer shifter. I think I heard it is possible somebody makes one. If not follow Pains advice and you will have the best chance at getting something you like.

Yeah I look like a gorilla riding a mini-bike...lol but Don't let the little 250 fool ya Its pretty mean with my big self on it. I can actually smoke my neighbors 300EX by about 3 to 4 bikes lengths. he has a jet kit, filter and Exhaust. he starts to catch me about 300 or so yards down. though. but that's the stroke and bore coming into play.

Cool. My father was a teacher and the pay blows, but there is one thing to be said, they have benefits. In the large picture, I don't ever remember being without health insurance, ever. People don't look at that kind of thing some time, but it means a great deal.

Glad she's working again, and probably doing something she likes. That's another thing about having a job. If you like what you are doing, then money doesn't mean as much. I know that from experience. Having a job you hate sucks large. If you can make enough to live on doing something you enjoy, then do it.
