Latest new member to the Forum. Name is Jason and I recently moved from Texass to Southwest Missouri. I love the area and climate here in MO. Texass was HOT!!!! I joined the forum in hopes of getting some insight on where to start with working on my 1996 Honda TRX300. It was lightly wrecked a few years ago and I want to get it back up and going. It was still drivable and running after the "rollover". I am going to need to do a little bending of the racks and adjusting of the handle bar. I also am going to need to rebuild the carb and replace a couple of the lines/cables for the brakes. Let me know what the best way to get a service manual will be? Should I download and print or order a bound manual? Thanks in advance for the support. BASSHAWK

Welcome. Love the St James area.

I’ve fixed 2 rollover machines and a 300 that was run into a fence hard enough that it cut the brake line. It was cannibalized pretty badly but it’s running great now.

buy OEM parts and especially for the 96 model; aftermarket parts don’t fit right and several are not interchangeable between year groups of trx300. Lots of fleabay finds but often sellers not keenly aware of interchangeability

For the carb, see the carb stickie. Shindy carb rebuild kit (in the Shindy packaging) and quite possibly a starter valve and primer plunger (pump set). I always order these 2 parts when buying a carb kit cuz I don’t want to hold up the rebuild—the gaskets in these parts are gonna be in the same shape as the carb gaskets.
