hey i was looking at taking a 250x side cover and kick start off it and put it on my 300ex will this work or am i wasting my time just want a back up for the trail:noupstoday01:

It may work.Ask some one like moose.He's more experienced with the 250x than I am.

Just popping off your side cover and putting on a 250X side cover won't work you have to install all the kicker gearing that goes along with it i would look into it a little more before jumping into that project. I want to put electric start on mine ....LOL I'll trade cover with you..lol nah JK

Well I have the breakdown of the 250X if you need to see anything. all you need is a breakdown of the 300EX and your home free.

I hope it works man.The only thing is I don't think the 300's have the auto compression release.So it will be hard to kick but It's better than wasting time with dead batteries.

my 4x4 has kick start i never used the de compresson on it kicks hard as hell bt worth it of ur in the middle of no weres with a dead battary

I read about this before on another forum... guy's with high compression 300ex's were tired of rippin up starters... anyway here is a link to the other forum. If i did it right the link should take you right to a sub forum for 300ex/250x's

hahaha ya ok no thanks i build all my own lol but what i have looked in to so far is that the 250 and 300ex motors are the same and what they have bine saying on line is that it should work

thats all im looking for if it works it would be nice to start helping others puting this on there bike like when i put the fenders on the front im happy i did it alot of people told me it couldnt be done and that i was wasting my time well fack umm all i say because look what i made lol well boys we will see what happens with this kick start im hoping to have it done by spring
