Still need more details... How and where were you riding when this happened? Is it a mud bike? Have you replaced any parts recently?

Is timing dead on? How did you confirm this? Have you checked compression?
How about fuelling? Is the tank clean? Do you have an inline fuel filter? Is the carb OEM?

didn’t happen when riding I just replaced ball and socket yesterday after riding it started up and I turned it off went inside came back out wouldn’t start made some loud ticking noise by the compression lever. I took top head cover off and tightened the valves to .006 chain is lose don’t really know how to tighten it. When I checked the timing T is was was off so I moved it to dead center. Made sure the lobes was facing down put the top back on still made same sound but you can also see the valve spring looks like it’s grabbing something yesterday I went though some deep water and came out perfect no problems made it home maybe after a 13 mile ride the made the noise have no idea. I know the person I bought it from used to have snorkel on it and they went handle bars deep I just replaced the rear end on it two Days ago. Took is though sum tire deep mud no problem to shut off or anything just got home a started up wouldn’t start back and made this noise.

If timing chain was loose then it might have jumped time again

Were your valves Way out of adjustment?

Ok there are two positions of TDC one is on the compression stroke the second on the exhaust stroke. Are you sure you were on the right one?

Sounds like your starter motor is weak to me. Also sounds like a starter gear may be slipping however, it still turns over and therefore should start.

Have you confirmed that the timing is correct, 100%?
When piston was at TDC where were the cam lobes facing, upward or downward?
