Another 300, but a gen1 road registered.

I plan on swapping a few parts off this onto mine to make mine road worthy. To ride any trails (byways) in the UK any vehicle has to be road worthy, tax, MOT and insured. Finding this beauty has sure opened up the availabllity of Land I can ride on now. Happy day :)

My plan with this is to swap over the necessary parts onto mine to make mine road worthy and then put this up for sale again. I’d love to keep it but I can’t really afford to if I’m honest. Prices have rocketed recently over here, this was £1500 which is average, you expect to have issues though at that price. A mint example will be in excess of £2000.

It’s insane really as I can pick up a 2012 420 for £2500 now!

Does look in quite good shape through for a 91. I’ll have to pull the CDI and switch it for a Gen2 I think, lol.

All 300’s in the UK were known as big reds up until 96/97 when they became the fourtrax. That sticker is original :)

Nice Sam. Congrats!

There's a guy in LA who has a bunch of those Big Red tanks that appear to be NOS, or close to it.

I don't know if he ordered them in from overseas or what.
Not many Gen1’s over here now, they’ve all gone to ATV heaven or been broken for parts I think.
Ha lucky to get hold of those tanks. Maybe he got them from Europe?

Looks good. Exactly what parts do you need to swap to make yours “road worthy”?

I need to use as many of the 98 parts as possible that will switch over if possible because I’ve noticed that 91 shafts are now obsolete. Not even sure if they are different or not.is the front diff the same? A Arms, hub assembly?

This is what I would say and may be wrong on a couple -------- the front shafts are different because of length , the frame is different which caused that change , the a-arms are different , the hubs are the same in the front but not the rear as they have short splines , the front diff is the same , also think the cv shafts are different

Do you know how to contact this guy? I might be interested pending a price. I know a guy down there named Greg something had a few of them.

Normally around here figure about $100 for a good clean tank. $150ish if the paint's in great shape. That's tops. I bought a decent green one a couple of weeks ago for $65. Very little bit of rust, one tiny, almost unnoticeable dent on the top.

He's looking for the NOS crowd who want something that looks showroom new. The same guys who want $3500 for a minty 300.
