Hey guys, I just bought my cousin a 2001 400ex. No engine mods, only a K&N filter and a white brothers e-series pipe. It was ran in Colorado, and now its down to 700-1100 feet above sea level.

Can you help me with jet sizes? I'll probably buy a K&N jet kit, or go to the dealer and buy individual jets.

Also it won't stay running unless I hold on the gas. (I just bought it yesterday). It has a twist throttle. Probably bad gas and dirty carb? I'm going to start with fresh gas and a good carb cleaning. You think this would help!

Thanks for the help, I'm a Yamaha guy but he really wanted a 400ex so I don't know jack about Honda's.

Yeah, fresh gas and a good carb cleaning would be a good place to start.

Agree ^^^^^ I think a 155 main would probably be a good start for the mods it does have.

Alright thanks guys. Dynojet says to use a 165 but most places on the forums I've seen is 155. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to get the needle out to make sure its on the 3rd groove...do you guys know what is stock? I'm searching now so no worries if you don't know off hand.
