Hi, I'm new to this and am really hoping someone out there can answer my question! Yesterday I bought a used 2003 Honda 450 foreman. It sarted up went right into reverse fine. After I had rode a while I needed to put it into reverse, no go, would not downshift into neutral. Now I cannot restart the engine because I cannot shift it into neutral, it could be stuck in either 1st or 2nd I'm not sure. Any suggestions? anybody else have htis problem, is it my shifter, the transmission, or what

Welcome to the forums? Have you tried rocking it back and forth while trying to put it in neutral? If you can do that and get it into neutral, I would try adjusting the clutch free play. If that don't fix it, then you probably have something wrong with the linkage inside the transmission.

Maybe someone else will have had this problem and will chime in. It would have to be in the linkage or transmission one, hopefully the linkage. If it's in the transmission, the case will have to be split which is a bad job. If it's not the linkage, you could have a broken shift fork.
