Yes, you are correct Jason, only ring and pinions aren’t available for ATV’s so we use what’s known as a primary & secondary reduction within the engine/gearbox.
Wanting to find out what size gear reduction and what’s best for 95 300 4x4 with 26” tires. Does ok till I get it in a bind an it needs to be geared lower. I don’t have to go fast I like to go slow an Cruze the trails
It all depends on tyre size and your intended use. If it’s a mud bike on 30” tyres a 62% GR.
28” 54%. Between stock and 28” a 32%.
If your 300 still has the plastic on and is a true super clean barn find you’d probably be better of selling it and buying a bike already built. Lots of people want a genuine 300 in ‘as new’ condition and will pay top dollar.
I personally think it would be criminal to modify such a tidy machine.
