What are you working on today?
Swing arm is installed 100% correct. I even had the tool to torque it properly. I was referring to the actual rear axle nuts and lock nutsIf your swingarms are installed right (I think the left side of each swingarm gets torqued first?) then frame may be bent?
The manual doesn't give a sequenceAye yeah, sorry... I think the same way as the swingarms are done (torque the left hub first) is correct. Unless the service manual says something else. Just in case you haven't got a copy yet, it is HERE.
I'm just looking to see if there is a sequence to tighten down one side of the axle first.... yes my front end is tweaked a bit and yes this could be the issue but that's not what I'm trying to determine. Everything aligned 100% but either the rear left wheel sticks out farther than the right rear wheel or the left front wheel sits inbound more than the right front. I'm just trying to eliminate the chance of tightening down the rear axle incorrectly and accidentally causing it to favor one side.I can't remember which thread it was covered in but @fishfiles gave a detailed post on rear ends and refitting, torque settings etc. When I replaced my swing arms bearings I followed his advice and the job worked out just fine.
You say above that the front end of your 300 is teeaked? Do you mean damaged?
Everything is the same yes....the wheel isn't off by inches.... I'm talking about 1/4".....Ok cool..
I tightened mine to whatever fishfiles said, I can't remember exactly what the torque settings were but I'm sure left was 90 and right was around 40. It may be in his ongoing build thread, 95 300 fourtrax.
When tightening you can feel when there tight enough (if that makes sense) it's nipped up plus a bit.
May be a silly question but your wheels are the same offset aren't they? Have you looked at the hubs, are they the same?
