Regarding a 1991 fourtrax 300fw
If I start the engine and leave it in neutral, rev the engine in neutral, it sounds amazing. No unusual noises whatsoever.
If I put it in gear, then smack the throttle which causes an immediate load, I will simultaneously here a loud knock which originates from the lower right side of the case. This knock will go away during cruising and will only return under load.
If I'm running full throttle in final gear, I hear all kinds of rattling once the machine reaches top speed. I believe its originating from lower right side of the case as well.
Are these noises symptoms of a failing clutch? It is properly adjusted with the correct weight of oil.
Thanks guys.
