so i took my water pump off to solve a little leak, and when i go to re-install the pump housing with the 6 bolts that i took out earlier, i end up with the 2 longer 10mm bolts not wanting to go back in. the one on the lower part of the housing simply goes all the way through, having no thread to screw into. i looked on plenty of schematics and seen no nut whatsoever on the back of this part. then the other long 10mm that goes in the farthest hole towards the top of the quad will not even start to thread. i know i'm putting them back into the same place they come from but i'm at a stuck point on it now and don't know what to do. ANY Help? sure appreciate any given.

I have an old one at home, it is off an 04 but should be the same. I will check it when I get home in about an hour and will post to let you know what I find. Did you pull the whole pump off or just the face plate?

Don't know if this picture thing worked but, hopefully I can walk you thru where the bolts go. Clockwise from the angled water outlet the first bolt should be a short bolt attaching the housing to the pump, the second bolt should be one of the long 10mm bolts that goes thru the pump and bolts to the block, the third bolt is your drain bolt. It should be a short bolt with a copper washer. The forth and fith bolt should be sort bolts with copper washers that bolt the housing to the pump. The fith bolt should be another long 10mm bolt that goes thru the housing and pump and bolts to the block. Hope this helps. By the way, was your pump leaking from the weep hole? If so, the mechanical seal behind the impellar is bad and it can't be rebuilt.
