ok i have a 2002 400 ex and my steering stem bearing was shot that i removed. the one i removed was ball bearings and the one i got from all balls came with a big solid bearing and 2 dust covers, thats it.... any ideas how this goes in will help i removed washers and a metal collar but all of that is shot.. am i supposed to reuse anything??

The bottom side metal collar does have to be re-used. You need to pound the outer race of the old bearing out and press the new one in. The bearing comes out the top after you remove the steering stem. The seals go above and below the bearing. You also have to remove a snap ring that is holding the outer race down in the seat. That can he fun as they are usually rusted in place pretty good.

i still cant figure it out here is a picture of what i have im guessing the peice that is in there has to come out and the other pic is what i pulled out and the new bearing kit
the old broken race is still in there, you need to hammer it out before you install the new bearing and seals.

ok how does that c clip come out
There should be 2 small holes on each end of the clip.

You need small needle nose, or better yet, snap ring pliers, and you need to squeeze the 2 holes together so the clip shrinks in diameter and can come out of the slot.
