I was wondering if any one new anything about this kind of intake. It was on my 400 when I got it.

LOL If you bought that quad used Im going to say that is an intake spacer it gives the air more mixing time to increase hp and torque a bit. It was mounted between the head and carb ritght?

Yes. The rubber boot was dry roted and cracked thats why I went back to a stock one.
