Well, it finally happened. I drove in a new mud hole it went handlebar deep in the hole. After we drug it out, let dried out and I got it cleaned up changed fluids ect which took a couple of weeks to my amazement it actually started. BUT it smokes like a bonfire and knocks like a jack hammer.
So I thought about rebuilding myself but after a lot of research it way above my skill level.
I talked to the local dealer,,, way too much $. A few days ago one of my hunting buddies told me he bought a rebuilt engine from a shop called Extreme Gearheads. He said it only only took 2 weeks and looked and ran great, they even sent him a video of his engine running before they sent it to him.
Has anyone heard or had an engine down by them as I don't want to go through all this and end up with another problem. Any info would be helpful
THANKS VERY MUCH

Thanks oswaldocd. It sure appears they are a very serious shop. Iv'e been asking around to several different ATV UTV owners and there seems to be only 2 or 3 shops in the entire U.S. that specialize in rebuilt engines. They promise timely service but iv'e heard from more than a few people when they get the engine it takes way too long to get it back 6 weeks plus and also had problems and had to be sent back i don't want any part of that. I have since found some folks that had Extreme Gearheads do theirs and everyone said they got their engines back in about 2 weeks with no issues at all. So I called and talked to Kenny, the owner of Gearheads. He said they always get them done and back in about 2 weeks depending on shipping time.
The great part is all I have to do is pull my engine and they would arrange and pay for shipping my core and ship me a new one and he has one in stock that has been test ran and ready too ship. Now thats hard to beat. So my brother is going to help me pull it and get it to them tomorrow. I'll give an update as soon as I get the new one going
Anybody else heard of or have any experience having an engine rebuilt?

Got er' back on Wed. now that's fast!!!!! It looks GREAT damn near new looking. They sent me a video of it running so I know I'm not going to spend all the time it takes to put it back in and have a problem. The only thing we're waiting on to put it back in is for the beer get real cold. I'll give an update after I get over the hangover.
