I got an aftermarket replacement for our 1998 Honda Fourtrax 300 FW ignition switch. I'm all set to put it in but the wire colors don't match.

The original has Black, Red, Pink and Pink/white

The new one has Black, Red, Green and Black/white.

The green and black/white ends have female covers like the original black and pink.

The black and red ends have male (sort of) coverings like the original red and pink/white.

So how do they connect? Any help will be appreciated.

I wouldn’t use it, I would buy the OEM switch. Here’s one from Rocky Mtn. You can also search this part number on fleabay

The first gen and second gen wiring of the ignition switch of the 300s were different ---------- I have done it before , in fact my blue 300 has a later model ignition switch in it and I had the fender off this week past and seen the splices I had done , can't remember the colors for you , from what I can remember , I put a couple of wires together not connected to the ignition and have just two wires going to the switch itself
