I've been tinkering with the 1988 honda trx 300 I just got. I can't to seem to get it to idle worth a crap. It idles really high and I've tried adjusting the carb. I just can't figure it out. Would it be best just to buy a new carb and go from there?

Try adjusting your throttle cable slack before adjusting idle speed and mixture. Everything is covered in the service manual. Get a copy HERE if you haven't gotten one yet.

is the carb on the bike OEM< or after market?
if NOT OEM< the carb itself can be the issue? many china carbs are JUNK!
