My daughter has a 2007 Honda TRX 250. After riding a few minutes, she put the bike in neutral and it will rev extrmely high. When we shift it into gear it hops due to the high rev. Anyone have any idea?

I would check the throttle cable and make sure it's not pulled out of place at the ends where it fits into the adjusters. Make sure it's routed the proper way.

I'm sure this has already been checked but starting simple, maybe the choke is partially still on?????

An air leak in the boots that attach to the carb will cause high reving.

How would I check teh boots for a leak? Do I have to remove them first and then check, or is there a way to check with them still on?

You can check for a leak in the intake boot by spraying carb cleaner on it. If you have a leak, the idle speed will change when the carb cleaner hits the leak.
