At 70 years old I've come to the conclusion my co-ordination is not what it used to be. Me and my lil 300 need all the help we can get. I think a set of spacers on the rear wheels "may" offer me better stability. Getting a moose out to my truck last year the rear of the 300 felt like a little more width would help. What do you guys think? If yes, what thickness?

First, I applaud you and hope to be out pushing the limits on ATV at 70!! I have no idea of the topography, but I would consider something like a sled to pull behind and take the Moose out in trips the unit can easily pull/handle. Putting weight, especially that which may exceed the limits sets you up for various challenges with top center problems, front end popping up, etc.

Great job keeping after it salarguy!
No I don’t think a wider track will help you at all; if anything you want to keep the front end down.
As alloutdoors mentioned it’s all about reducing the rearward friction component and keeping your CG centered.

A sled can help; make sure you pack your gear on the front rack—balance that CG.

Sal' , I have 2 inch spacers onTRX300 Utility Quads , no problems ---------------- on the extreme end I have seen people run double 3" spacers on each side
That's a badass rear end! No ****.

You added 2 inch spacers on each side, a TRX250 axle, rear brake delete and you added structural integrity to your swing arm?

My thoughts were 1-1 1/2" per side. I have all stock suspension. Should I be concerned about the fender clearance?

Tire clearance / coverage depends on your tires and rims , are you running 10 wide in the rear and 8 in the front ? or maybe 12 rear /10 front ???? , I don't think you have any thing to worry on clearance , coverage will be close with 12's and 2 inch spacers -----place a 2x4 across the rim/tire , it would be 1 5/8 and give you an idea where the tire will be with 1 1/2 inch spacers and how they will sit under the fender flares
