I have been wondering about a HRC Power Up Kit is it a good way to go will my 450 be reliable with this kit. Am i better off going with a Hot Cam rather than the Honda kit. Would i be better off with just bolt on to keep the quad reliable. Right now i don't race but i do allot of trail riding.THX

The nice thing about the HRC kit is that if it is dealer installed you won't void warranty. You get a new head pipe, cam, intake setup is altered, exhaust is altered at the silencer and they chop the green wire in your CDI which gives you a better timing curve and an extra 1000rpm.

Absolutely go for it.

The HRC cam is pretty much the same as a stage 2 hot cam. You will not lose any reliability

Ok I need to clarify a little......Sorry
1."The exhaust is altered at the silencer" does this mean getting a new exhaust is not needed or is it to say that the stock is improved but can't compare to a new exhaust (FMF).
2."They chop the green wire in your CDI" Doe's this mean I don’t need to get an after market CDI performance box at all. I was under the impression that a performance CDI (Curtis Sparks) would improve the timing curve and give me the 1000 RPM better than just cutting the green wire.
Thanks for your help I really appreciate it and sorry for all the questions all at once

1. The stock is improved. They remove the baffle and open up the stock can, a pipe like FMF will be better.

2.The CDI that comes on the 06+ 450R/ER is adjustable. When you add the upgraded cam/intake/exhaust, if you cut that green wire it will do the exact same thing as an aftermarket CDI box. If you cut the green wire before you do any of the mods listed, you will be actually losing power at the top end.

If you do cut wire make sure you seal off the ends.

from seeing my friends 450's and talking to people that have had them, 450 and reliable does not go in the same sentence
LMAO, I have 1 and a half years of trail riding and 2 years of desert racing on my 450. It has never broke down and I'm still on stock rings and running strong.

I think he's meaning how you have to change the oil at the longest every 2 rides.
