If we didn't make mistakes, we would never learn anything. Sometimes it can be costly, but those are the best lessons. It's harder to forget them.

You hit the nail on the head bro! I have been here since before 1000 members and the knowledge that has entered this site has far surpassed what any dealer will tell you, I admit to have given wrong information out in the past but like you said we all learn from mistakes that we have made. the things i have tried to stress on here it 1. a good service manual 2. a multi-meter and finally Die-electric grease these three thing are essential for a good working electrical system. i appreciate each and everyone of you guys and the know-how you bring to the table, this is what makes this site stand above the rest. Thank You Shadetree for the thread.

Everybody that offers information is going to give out wrong information, every now and then. There is no one person that knows it all. It is hard to diagnose these problems without actually being right there with the atv. We have a limited amount of information about them and sometimes the information that we get is hard to understand or incorrect. The reason for this is that the people asking the questions, most of the time, are not familiar with repair, troubleshooting procedures, combustion engine theory, or even terminology. We have to take the limited amount of information, whether or not it is complete or correct, and try to come up with a logical diagnoses of the problem. Example: It would be like a sick person calling the doctor and asking, "What's wrong with me?" Without any way to run the proper tests, it's really just trying to make an educated guess, based on your previous experience. The good thing about this site is that if one person gives out information, there's always a few more people to come along and verify it or reject it. I have worked on ATVs for years and I sill learn all the time. At times, it's easy to make simple little mistakes, either because we just wouldn't thinking or maybe we just simply forgot. Sometimes we are going to make errors in our educated guesses, but hey, it's free information here and if you call up the dealer and they WOULD give you any free information, I'll bet there would be more wrong information from them, than us.
