so my stock 07' 300ex ran great this weekend, but keeping up with my uncle(500sportsman) and step dad(440ex) wasnt easy, i can get my uncle off the line but then he catchs up, so i was looking to get a new cam and exaust(after mine fell off )

and for the cam useing a hot cam Hot Cams Products, Inc.

how much power will this give me?

With the full exhaust system you will see about an 8% hp increase. Probably in the area of 3-4 hp. The hot cam will add around 1 or 2 hp.

I agree I have that very exhaust system on mine It sounds really good too. I'm running a webcam in mine. but Im a 250X but basically the same engine

thats good, also what about a chain and sprocket set? what kind would be best, im not raceing, mainly trail riding, but if im with my freinds we usualy race though the woods

go up one on front sprocket.helps top end speed.some good tires.i got razr rears and wow.ive got a little practice dirt drag strip with stock tires i just spun off the get now it wheelies 2 and 3.

Agree^^^^!!Tires help a lot.As for chain and sprockets.I'd stay stock if your woods riding.The stock setup is fine for that.If anything get a better chain that has a master link.

alright, im just looking for some things to improve my quad that wolnt drain my wallet, the exaust and cam will be like 500$ so im looking for other upgrades, any other ideas? i have dunlop kt175 there fine, im getting the kt171 for the fronts.

I think what you're looking for is "aftermarket CDI"............... "Aftermarket CDI".

It gives you more RPMs and changes your timing curve.

The rate the timing advances with engine RPM. This is built into the CDI.

I think most aftermarket CDI's can give you as much as 1,000 additional RPMs.

Trade it for a 250X....LOL jk get rid of the Ballon tires on the rear get 20 X 11-9 Razrs you will not be disappointed I would change the gears either for the trail stick with the stock.

Get a nice aftermarket foam filter(uni, superflow. notoil are all good). Remove your airbox lid and jet accordingly.
