Those are real hard to time. Those timing chains are hard to find, too. I never could do it. LOL.
Those are real hard to time. Those timing chains are hard to find, too. I never could do it. LOL.My two stroke has a 5 lobe cam.:icon_ goofy:LMFAO!!!!I'll bet you've never seen a cam with 4 lobes in a 2 stroke, either. LOL.thats what i thought..i've never seen a cam with 4 lobes in a 4 stroke..and i've rebuilt many engines in my 12 years..sooooo..as i said..lobes facing down..cam sprocket markings right..piston on top dead center on compression stroke..and it should run..lol
as long as you got a repair manaul or know the spec's for the valves..it's not hard to do at all....all you need is the spec's..and some fealer gauges..i never use the gauges though..i've been doing valves so long on honda's.i simpley go by feal..dangggggg i'm old..lol.i was thinking of doing it but i dont know about setting all the gaps and whatnot .
Yeah, I don't use the feeler gauges, either, and I've never had a problem. But I've had plenty of experience, too.as long as you got a repair manaul or know the spec's for the valves..it's not hard to do at all....all you need is the spec's..and some fealer gauges..i never use the gauges though..i've been doing valves so long on honda's.i simpley go by feal..dangggggg i'm old..lol.i was thinking of doing it but i dont know about setting all the gaps and whatnot .

nooooooo..i'd say 80 is dang near dead !..lmfaooooo!!!You guys kill me. old LOL thats not old now 80 is old well kinda
Hey, this is getting funny. I used to set points with a matchbook, too. Then, after a while, I just started eyeballing them.Im 40 too so be nice. I used to set points with a matchbook and timing by ear, I adjusted my valves a couple weeks ago I actually used the feelers this time..lol the last time i didn't I missed by a couple thousands big deal..LOL. I put a cam in my brothers 75 chevy truck last year I have a stock gm valvecover i cut the center out of for adjusting the valves while its running. Sooooo much easier.
Yeah, I think all of those engines are like that. If you listen hard enough, you will hear something. That's normal. If you had racks on it, and could put one of those cloth tops on it, you would hear all kinds of sounds. It amplifies the sound or something. Sounds like everything in them is going to fly out.Agreed^^^^ I have mine set right on spec but i still have a tick but i don't think i've hear a 250X that don't tick. it's a side motion play in the rockers I think.
Yeah, they are great engines. I just meant those little sounds are normal engine sounds for that engine.True but man are they tough little engines.
I've got a set of those clips that I use sometimes, too.I use the clips no mes.
