how much for a hot cam and for labor to install?

hot cams run like $120 on ebay.You'd have to check with your honda shop for prices on install.

if it's anything like putting a reg cam in..you probally could install it yourself..it's really simple.

It is simple, the hardest thing is setting the timing chain.

hope its no more than 400 bucks with everything.wish i knew someone to install it on the side.cant find one for the 250ex but will one for a 300ex and 250x work?

as long as you get the piston on top dead center on the compression stroke..and your cam sprocket markings are set right..and your lobes are facing down..shouldn't be too hard..at least thats how i do it on any motor i rebuild

No the 300ex 250x cams are completely different.

why ?..they don't have valve lobes ??..they have two valves right ?..which means they have two cam lobes..or am i wrong ?

okkkkkkk..my trx 350d has 4 valves..and one cam..with two lobes..now..you telling me this bike has 4 lobes ?..or two ?.because..if it has 4 valves..and two lobes..means you still face the two down..thats how i done mine anyway.

thats what i thought..i've never seen a cam with 4 lobes in a 4 stroke..and i've rebuilt many engines in my 12 years..sooooo..as i said..lobes facing down..cam sprocket markings right..piston on top dead center on compression stroke..and it should run..lol
