i just put a stage 2 hot cam in my 06 400ex, and it ticks more than it did. I did adjust the valves, but it's still ticks loud. Is that normal?

DId you adjust them to manufacturers specs or did you adjust them according to HotCams instructions?

you can go to hotcams web site look up the cam you bought and open the pdf instructions page 2 tells you what you need to set the valves at.
