Hi there I have a problem with my honda trx 500cc the carb is fully cleaned out all set to Pacific manufacturers, it will set their and idle all day long but soon as I put my throttle on the quad dies, has anyone got any ideas what this could be? Thanks get back to sleep as soon as possible as I need this fixing straight away!

before cleaning carb, did you make sure things up stream are good
like clean fuel tank, peacock, fuel line, fuel filter, is FUEL fresh and good
as if NOT, cleaning carb might have been a waste of time
modern ethanol fuel can go bad in a few weeks, so if this atv sits often (and you didn;t list yr of machine)
its real common for fuel related problems to be up stream of carb
PLUS< HOW did you clean carb can be a issue too, ethanol will coat things with varnish like coatings that spraying and soaking with carb cleaner will NOT remove, and partially blocked passages can cause funny like running issues


is your air filter good, is the boots to carb GOOD< no pin hole dry rot or leaks?
HOW does the spark plug look?

Usually applying throttle would lead one to believe the motor is being choked.. By fuel or air, can only be one of two products...!!

Post a photo of your spark plug, that will help.comfirm your problems

My petrol tank is cleared out fully all my fuel lines and air lines are all cleaned out! The carb is all cleaned out quad is getting a good spark, could it be a electric side to it?

yes could be a bad CDI/ecu
how many miles and hours on the motor, any mods to it?
have you checked compression on it?
