Hey need some advice. Recently I had an issue and took my battery out and charged it and replaced solenoid. Took out starter and found out it was fine so reinstalled it. Ended up having to get a new battery which appeared to solve original problem. After putting all back together yesterday I started it and drove fine for about 15 minutes went to cut it off and it did not want to cut off. Starter kept turning. There is small black and red wire coming front of 4 wheeler that I assumed to connect to pos and neg on battery along with the big black on neg. Red covered to pos wires. Did I assume wrong? (Hope this makes sense) I put wires back on solenoid as I took them off. I could not find a wire that possibly creating short to frame. Hoping someone can help!!!

Was it an OEM Honda solenoid that you installed, or a cheap china knockoff from fLeebay or Amazon? If the latter you get to spend your money again, this time on OEM.

You can get a copy of the factory service manual HERE to see of you connected the battery and solenoid up correctly.

I had the same thing happen to me with a e-bay Chinese $5 solenoid , a 420 solenoid from Honda is $18

you can test if the solenoid is stuck , disconnect the big wire that goes to the starter off the solenoid , then reconnect the battery which I presume you had to disconnect to make it stop spinning , then touch the big wire terminal on the solenoid where you disconnected the wire to the starter , it should not not light the light unless the starter button is depressed ----now it is possible that the magnet dis engaged while sitting there and it would test ok till you used it again
