The leak is not located at the reservoir for adding final drive oil. It is on the frame under the carburetor.

Also, the manual indicates that the reservoir contains only 3 oz. of oil. Just wondering, that doesn't sound like very much.

Hope someone can help me.

is it leaking from the rubber boot ?..this comes out of your output shaft assmebly..inside that rubber boot..is your drive shaft and a u-joint..around the drive shaft..is a oil seal..they tend to go bad..in order to replace the seal..you have to pull the motor out of the u-joint..more or less..pull the motor far enough forward to take the drive shaft out of the u-joint..where you can get to the drive shaft output shaft..then you will see the oil seal...and yes..3 oz is about right on the rear differental oil.

Thanks very much Shadetree. I'm not much of a mechanic so I'll just have to get it to a repair shop.

Could you help me with another question? My right front wheel is just locked up. Left front wheel spins freely. Hope you can help.

your wheel bearings are bad..you'll have to remove the brake drum..and knock out the bearings..before you do though..just try turning them by hand after you take the brake drum off..i bet it is froze...if it is..knock it out..do not hit the center of the bearing race !!..hit on the outside edge if you can..after you get it out..pull the seals out of the bearing..with some wd-40..spray it in the bearing..work it loose..after it's free..re-pack it with some wheel bearing grease.

as for your leak..check the oil drain plug..see if it's leaking from around that..before you take it to the repair shop.
