I have a 1985 Honda TRX250 FourTrax. I accidentally left the key on over night and for the whole day. I went to start the Honda and it started fine. I turned it off and on at least 3 times. On the 4th time I turned the Honda on and the starter stayed on. I turned the four wheeler off and the starter was stuck on no matter what I did. So I disconnect the battery to see if that would work and it turned off but as soon as I touched the ground back to the battery the starter kicked on. I am new to the four wheeler world. Any advice? Starter? Solenoid? Ignition Switch?

I would say 99.9% it is the solenoid that is stuck , it could be a short , but I would doubt -, during the low voltage condition you experienced , if you tried to start it at that time , it could have arched the solenoid contacts ---- just don't buy that cheap Chinese junk off e-bay or amazon , I have not priced a solenoid for a 250 in a long time , if it is more than $20 or so , buy a OEM 420 solenoid and wire it in if need be , the are like $16 , I know they plug right into my 300s

The 250Fourtrax is a bad ass little bike , they are fast , just don't have a good turning radius ------- I have had a few running in the fleet , the rear end out that bike will go right in a 300 with minimal welding and be a good upgrade to the 300 , as will the cam and sprocket , the head will fit but you lose decompression lever , so if you ever want to upgrade to 4x4 300 don;t let that bike go !!!!
