welcome to the forums lyn, to adjust your chain..on the rear axle..one side is two bolts..one has a 12 mm nut that goes on a long bolt that has a 17mm bolt through it..and the is also another 17mm bolt right above that one above the axle tubbing..loosen all three..first the big 17mm bolts..then the 12mm, then loosen the two 17mm bolts that are on the right hand side, after you do this..tigthen the 12mm nut down..this will pull the slack out of the chain..once this is done..re-tighten the 4 big 17mm bolts back down. if your bike is missing the 12mm nut with the long threaded bolt..just pull the rear axle tubbing backwards..this will pull your chain slack out.hey guys...new guy here sayin HI!
i got a 1985 trx125 that runs great and still looks good but i need to tighten up the chain...anyone know how this is done on this model?
thanx
it should tighten the same way as the older model does ^^^^^. they all tighten the same way, loosen the frame bolts first, then tighten down the anchor bolts that have a eye on the end of it with a bolt through it ( frame bolts ), once the frame bolts are lose ?, you then tighten down the smaller nuts to pull the axle backwards to tighten the chain.I just bought a 1989 Honda trx 125 and runs great just need to find away to tighten up the chain any help here would be appreciated
