bottom line: you will need to do a complete tear down, complete inspection, complete rebuild/service through the whole brake system. other than this ?, you may not get much help from us old timers on here ?, we've taken our skill to another site that we built.
Honda Recon 250es front brakes wont work.
Hi Everyone,
I am new to the forum. I just bought a used 2009 Recon 250 ES a couple months back and the front brakes don't work very well at all. They will only engage when the brake lever is squeezed as tight as it can go, and even then I barely get the brakes to engage. I've looked at the online service manual , youtube videos, and parts schematics and I think the problem is the master cylinder? Considering a rebuild on the master cylinder piston assembly, then bleeding the front brakes to see if that will fix the problem.
Has anyone else had this problem on their older recon models? If so, what did you do? Also, would you recommend replacing the brake shoes and pistons in the front drums as well or is that not necessary?
