I rebuilt the motor on my 06 honda rancher 350 es 4x4.if i go to crank it it says --- and its in neutral i know for sure.if i shift up 1 it says 4th gear.that is not true.if i ground the green wire with a red stripe the light turns green and i see a n. do i need to pull the stater cover and see if the gear positron sensor is broke? where should i start? i plan to fix this tomm. thanks :sad:sad

Pull the rear cover off and rotate the gear position switch shaft 1/2 turn. There are marks you must line up... its detailed in the service manual assembly steps.

The rear crankcase cover has to be taken off so you can correct the gear position switch. Read the attachment.
