Just don't understand the fascination with side x side vehicles like these.
Up the Alaska Highway where 'mud is mud' ... the guys with these things are covered. Head to toe, guns, gear, everything covered in mud.
Can't really carry them in a pick-up with other gear and moose.
Bought a low-mile TJ hard/soft tops, tunes and heat for $10,500.-
Would pay considerably more for a sxs . . . . mud is free.
Not meaning to be critical . . . . just don't understand the fascination ??

MM, I agree with you. I will never trade off road handlebars for a steering wheel, unless it were a TJ but that would supplement, not replace. Even with young kids our family will still be an atv family. But a couple years ago when the yxz1000r came out, similar to this new talon, i got to go for a ride in one as a passenger and I think it gave me some perspective as to why the sport sxs market has exploded, so here's my take on it:

In a high powered sport sxs, and I felt it in the yxz, you can get a huge rush and push the limits without taking the time to practice and develops skills, unlike atv's, dirt bikes, or street bikes. When I raced mx, it took me a good 3 years of practicing and racing weekly to feel like I was skilled enough to get a real rush out of it. But just about anyone can get the feeling of pushing the limits when you are in a cage, in a seat with a backrest, and behind a steering wheel of a sport sxs. It makes it stupidly easy. But of course that false sense of security has now gotten lots of people seriously hurt or killed in sxs's. People want thrills to come easy and not have to practice or work hard for them. And in today's "finance everything" world, nobody seems to care about the $20k sticker price. All they look at is the monthly payment, nor do they seem to care about the giant expensive trailers you need to haul these sxs around. This and the financing mentality also does not appeal to me. But in today's world, it's no surprise. My $0.0214875.

That’s a nice rig for sure. Sort of wished I held out a bit before buying my Polaris xp 900. I like my Honda rubicon. You feel more aware of you’re surroundings while about riding. The Polaris utv is more in closed much like a truck. But the one thing I like about my Polaris. Is whenever I decide to load up a deer in the bed. I use a lift mounted to the bumper using a hand winch. I’m a stout boy but lifting a 200 or 240 deer yes they do get big here makes it easy. The last time I tried to load a big buck on my four wheeler I thought I was going to have a stroke lol. Each one has it’s place and I enjoy my rubicon much more. Anyhoo it’s a Honda and it will sell well. It’s good for competition makes the competition step up their game.

Looks like a fun toy, but when I get a SxS I'll get a utility model. If I'm riding for fun I'll be on a wheeler. A SxS would be nice to have when I need the bed to haul a saw and cant hooks, and then haul wood back to the house, or when i need to haul decoys to the duck hole. Eventually I'll get a SxS for work, but it will be a utility SxS.

first off for MOST places I think a SxS is a waste of money
BUT for places where you can legally use them and log on some serious miles a day(way more comfortable all day riding on an atv I bet!, and I like atv's )
I can some what see them being a lot of fun and less up keep MAYBE than a jeep , and overall more fun, due to being lighter better suspensions handling and ride, but fior most folks and lack of any real place to go far with one, there just over priced toys to me!

then again, I think most folks buy out of want rather than need or practical use in mind! so?

Honda would loose too much money if they did that cause no one would be breaking their stuff
