Shell Rotella T6 5w40....tons of threads on here already about it. Nothing wrong with Maxima, AMSOIL, etc., but of all the other JASO-MA full synthetics, T6 is the most cost effective.

May be this is a Canada thing, but I just looked online and "standard", not synthetic oil for Honda HP4 is about $8/quart or $32 per gallon, and Rotella T6 is about $23/gallon. Is the difference much greater in Canada?

Get out of here with that liter stuff Mac. Quarts! Gallons!
When I saw the post by Mac in liters it reminded me of some of my more recent trips across the big pond buying "petrol" instead of the term gas. Also, I remember seeing the number per liter and at 3.78 L per gallon it sings the wallet to fill up.

Sam, what is the cost per liter of gasoline right now over in the UK?

Located this......

MotoSport Staff Expert A: No, Full Synthetic Oil can make your clutch slip. HP trans oil would be recommended. The GN4 would work in both the motor and the transmission.
I'm going to dig into this oil issue......

We are all over the place up here, some stuff we call gallons and quarts, some litres. Quart containers are always just litre jugs, 4L jug would be called a gallon jug but a 5 quart container is a 5L jug. 5 gallon bucket is just that, not a 19 or 20L bucket. Really the metric system is vastly superior to what you guys use anyway, these gallon things are just an inconvenience lol

ive been through this before in a different thread. at the moment im using Castrol SAE 10W-40 4T, JASO MA-2, motorcycle oil. JASO is a honda standard,japan.. my Honda 450es is wet clutch. the price is getting close to $5.00 a quart for Castrol, the same with regular oil. i have been thinking of shell Rotella. it has a good reputation also, so do many other brands. i like Pennzoil, dont know if they have JASO.

liters, to quarts, or gallon dont match up. they went to liters here, to confuse shoppers here. it works!! :smile although the metric system may be efficient, i still prefer miles over kilometers. thats what i grew up on. inches, feet, yards, etc. :smile
