Hello i am having a issue with the carb on my 1986 honda 350d when i try to adjust the idle screw it seems like the throttle is almost half way open to get it to idle properly i have cleaned the whole carb and replaced the air fuel mixture screw seal when i start it up i have to give it about full throttle to start up

Download the service manual and see parts links in my signature block below. You’ll want the one in the TRX350 Foreman folder. You don’t have an 86 TRX350D if you have an 86 it will be a TRX350A.

Most likely you do not have the linkage adjusted properly. i set my throttle position to zero by screwing in the idle adjustment screw so it’s just touching the throttle—you’ll know this by peering into the carb throat—the butterfly valve will be completely closed.

easiest to review by your reading the manual first. Show the other side of your carb; the linkage side and ask questions about what you don’t understand. we’ll go from there.
