Hello everyone I have ran into some problems rebuilding my wheeler I broke the two 8mm bolt that hold the cylinder head to the case and was wondering if It would leak oil or would be ok with just the other bolts holding it on.
I am also wanting to know if I can use permatex as a substitute for the green paper gaskets. Thanks.
it will leak, no you can not use Permatex or any kind of rtv sealant !, you MUST use yamabond or hondabond for the rocker box, DO NOT TRY TO USE THESE ON THE LOWER ENGINE UNDER THE CYLINDER TO ENGINE CASE !, USE THE CORRECT GASKET !.
your first task is drilling the broken bolts out, re-tap , then replace with new bolts ( metric fine threads ), you can find these all day long on ebay, some sellers sell bolts buy the box full, cheap too !.
I tried to use a removal tool and craked the housing I went ahead and tapped it but it's not lined up right and now I'm in deep shit with getting it to seal up
