When backing up on a hill in revers its very hard to get back into 1st gear till I am on flat ground. Could someone help me or have advice. Thanks

You might try adjusting the clutch play. There should be an adjusting screw with a lock nut, on the clutch side cover.

unfortunately it sound like some of the cogs on the gears are wearing out (ie rounding) and now the trans will go into gear but it acts like it is jumping out and then going back in just had problem on 400ex had to split case and replaced 3 gears, one shift fork, and the counter shaft bearing. good luck
