I am having issues removing the swing arm pivot bolt that has the jam nut on it. Has any one ever had this issue and what do you recommend.

1. unable to get the jam nut cracked loose
2. I did break a 1/2 breaker bar swivel trying to loosen the 17mm headed pivot bolt
3. I did try heat around the boos of the female threaded area while loosing.

I am going to try a 3/4 breaker bar and 17mm socket set up tomorrow

thanks for any good advice...…!

I have a homemade tool that comes in very useful sometimes , took a hammer wrench ( which is a wrench with a block of steel on the end so it can be hit with a hammer ) and cut the box end off , welded the handle to a 3/4 to 1/2 impact quality adaptor , made it short at about 6 inches long , a hammer does a good job of breaking a stuck bolt loose , especially when the hammer is a 20 pound mall

17 mm allen wrench, 3ft cheater pipe slid on the wrench, i've yet to see a swing arm bolt I could not remove ?. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BREAK THE LOCK NUT LOOSE FIRST !!.

lol..thanks for that ^^^^^ big laugh !. yeah, I used to just put my 17mm allen wrench in the hex bolt, smack it with my reg hammer, after many times, I finally stopped doing this, and went straight for the 2lb sledge hammer !..lol. then I wised up even more, and now use a 3ft cheater pipe on the wrench, pops them loose every time !.

cheater pipes dont flex !..lol.
What do you guys call a cheater pipe? A piece of pipe over a 1/2 breaker bar?

If yes then I've broken several snap-on bar knuckles with pipes slid over them lol

Cheater bar or aka snipe, a longer piece of pipe that goes over the strong arm bar.
